Wiseman Hall

Our primary research objective in the Department of Radiation Oncology is to develop personalized care strategies that are tailored towards the individual patient. There is accumulating evidence that cancers can demonstrate significant molecular and genetic heterogeneity, although they may be derived from the same tissue type (i.e. breast, prostate, lung, etc.) and may demonstrate similar appearances under the microscope. Therefore, one treatment that is highly effective for one patient may be completely ineffective for another.

The Department of Radiation Oncology is actively conducting research on the clinical, translational, and basic levels to personalize care geared to fighting any individual’s cancer in a highly effective, targeted, and compassionate manner.
