Ioanna Papandreou, PhD. receives R35 Grant Award!


Dr. Papandreou is the lead OSU Co-Investigator on a recently awarded NIH R35 Outstanding Investigator Grant!


The Principal Investigator of this prestigious seven year award is Dr. Amato Giaccia, The Jack Lulu and Sam Willson Professor of Cancer Biology and Director of Radiation and Cancer Biology at Stanford University. The proposal, entitled "The impact of mitochondrial repression and lipid accumulation by HIF on tumor growth" received a perfect 10 score, a testament to the overall exceptional quality of the application. Dr. Papandreou and fellow OSU Co-Investigator Dr. Nicholas Denko, Associate Professor with the Department of Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University will contribute their expertise in hypoxic tumor physiology and metabolism investigating novel preclinical models of cancer that their teams have established.
